I’m in a bit of a bind. I recently got an iPhone 3G but some ******* went and stole it before I could sort out insurance. So, I had to buy a new handset and now I’m trying to get insurance sorted on it before I even take it out of the box.
I am having a major problem finding a decent insurance deal. I’m not too bothered about a price, anything that will keep me from having to buy another handset should (God forbid) something happen to it again.
Everywhere I look I get conflicting ideas, from companies advertising new for old when their TC state otherwise (and say you probably won’t even get the same model) and offering coverage of ‘accidental loss/theft’ only for their TC to exclude every place your phone can be lost/stolen to companies stating that only violent theft is included.
It seems that my best bet would have been O2 but they won’t let me take out insurance now.
Does anyone know of anywhere that offers insurance that at least covers theft/loss/accidental damage (and MEANS it, not theft/loss as long as it’s not lost/stolen from anywhere on Earth)? Contents insurance is not an option as my provider don’t seem too sound on mobiles.
I should mention that I live in the UK, not the US.

I recently cracked the screen on my Palm centro and I have insurance on it but I was completely satisfied with the phone and so I thought it would be an opportunity to get a different phone. I looked into the IPhone but was told I was ineligible for upgrade. Is there any way to switch the price of the new centro through insurance into an IPhone? Or to be able to get an IPhone for the low price outside of the upgrade?

ok, ignoring any dubious morality on my behalf, i genuinely lost my beloved iphone last week. i reported it to the police and o2 who have put a block on the phone. my insurance company have been super good, i’ve already bought a new iphone and i’m currently waiting on them to reimburse the money for it.

about 20 minutes ago, i got a phonecall from a guy who found my old phone, apparently the screen is cracked but he could still use it to find my wife’s mobile number on it and call.

no matter what, i’m not going to let my insurance company know about this, but i have a gadget crazy 13 year old neice who would love an iphone…..is it possible for me to get the screen fixed and give it to my neice to use without getting busted by apple/the fuzz/my really nice insurance company?

I have had my Iphone since August last year and im on an 18 month contract but the contract does no include insurance.
My iphone has been playing up a bit last week the menu button would only work if it was pressed really hard and ive had to restore it after it crashed 3 times , they are expensive to buy so i wouldn’t like to fork out for a new one ,
