Let’s say I lost an iphone. Is there anyway possible to find its location? Do I have to call the phone first? Does the phone have to be in sure to track it? If laptops and dogs can have tracking device chips in them, do iphones?

No the phone cannot be tracked. Not that I am aware of at least. You should call the phone if you lost your phone.
